RAAD — Research and Academic Development Center — is an independent research institution based in Hargeisa, Somaliland. We are dedicated to producing rigorous, evidence-based analysis on geopolitics, governance, education, security, and society across the Horn of Africa and the wider world.
We bridge the gap between scholarship and public understanding, supporting emerging researchers through fellowship programs, publications, and knowledge-sharing platforms. RAAD publishes in three languages — Somali, Arabic, and English — to maximise accessibility and impact.
